Parklands Community Centre Update

We are pleased to announce that Cheltenham Borough Council has registered Parklands Community Centre as an Asset of Community Value.

This emphasises what we already know – that Parklands is of great importance to the local community. As an ACV, it is afforded additional protection from development under the Localism Act 2011.

The success of the nomination demonstrates that the Centre operates to further the social wellbeing/interests of the local community.

The Council owns most of Parklands’ premises and, should the Authority look to sell the Centre on the open market, the local community would be given an opportunity to put a bid together to buy the land.
